Back Home.

Hi friends, families, and random blog readers!

Sorry its been so long since I've written a good post. I have a list in my head of all the posts I want to do, but it has been really hard to get back into any sort of routine since I've been back in Japan. I've been working a lot, which has been great since the Yen/Dollar exchange is so bad right now. Our US dollars are worth less in Japan, but the Yen I get paid to work is worth about 20% more if I exchange it into dollars. So its like I got a raise!

Other than working, I've been trying to catch up with chores around the house and spend some quality time with Dereck and our friends. Its so nice to be back home. Japan really has become a place where I can call home, more so than I felt in Little Rock last year, and definitely more than when we lived in Corpus Christ last winter. Its great to have that feeling again. I realized just how much I liked it here when I left to go visit my family in the states. It was a great trip, and I loved it all, but I was ready to go back "home"... and "home" is right here at Yokota.

I have friends who I don't feel are friends just because we are isolated in the same place and our husbands work together. I've found people who accept my quirks and laugh at my jokes. I met women who inspire me to be a better person. I have neighbors I can count on to help with anything- from pet sitting, to borrowing a car, or just somebody to keep me company while Dereck is gone. I have a job that I enjoy going to. We found a church that we love being at. All this in only 7 months of being here...  All and all, this is a GREAT place to call home.

I can't wait to see what the next few years has in store for us here. I'm looking forward to spending the holidays with my Yokota family and for the snowboarding season to start! I'm excited to explore more of Japan and get better at my Japanese. I'm excited for friends to visit and to travel around Asia more. I'm excited to see my friends' families grow as babies are expected all around us.

:-) Can you tell I've been in a good mood since I've been back? Of course I have been! I'm HOME!
